Laser Cellulite Information
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a common term that has been used to describe the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people get on their thighs, hips and buttocks. This condition is rarely seen in men but can be found in over 80% of women over the age of 20. All muscles within the body are covered with a padding of fatty connective tissue. Liquid covers this connective tissue and works to properly circulate and remove waste products from the area. When this system does not work properly, waste starts to build up and the tissue hardens and thickens. This creates the bumpy, dimply appearance that is associated with cellulite.
How Can Cellulite Be Treated?
Because so many women suffer from the visible appearance of cellulite, continuing research has afforded us the ability to discover its exact cause, as well as many treatments that can remedy its appearance. Cellulite is a kind of fat tissue that is found within the deeper layers of the skin. Our skin contains layers of connective tissues, and as fat cells build-up, they get deposited within these tissue layers. Once these cells become imbedded within the various tissue layers, the tissue thickens and hardens, taking on a certain shape, which in turn, causes the skins shape to change. The build-up of fat cells eventually leads to the visual formation of cellulite.
There is no one factor that can lead to the formation of cellulite, but maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle can help to prevent the formation of cellulite within the body. Cellulite most often forms as a result of, insufficient water intake, stress and tension, incorrect breathing, an unbalanced diet, fatigue, little or no exercise and hormonal cycles. Those who maintain a balanced diet and exercise regularly can greatly reduce their chances of forming this bumpy, dimply skin. Changing diet, exercise, breathing and relaxation techniques, many women have found that they can naturally reduce their cellulite build-up. However, many treatments have also been developed that can reduce the visible signs of cellulite; the most recent of which involve laser technology. The most advanced laser systems capable of treating cellulite include SmoothShapes™, VelaShape™ and TriActive LaserDermology System.
SmoothShapes Laser Cellulite Reduction
Several cellulite reduction treatments have become available to consumers over the past few years, but Elemé Medical recently made a breakthrough in cellulite reduction technology with their SmoothShapes™ Laser Cellulite reduction system. SmoothShapes is the first and only Laser Cellulite system that has been approved by the FDA for the lasting reduction of cellulite.
The SmoothShapes™ system uses proprietary Photomology™ technology to combat problem cellulite. Photomology™ is a pain free treatment that uses dynamic laser and light energy that effectively liquefies the engorged fat cells and repairs the brittle collagen in the area being treated. Simultaneously, vacuum massage and contoured rollers are repeatedly passed over the treatment area in order to smooth the treated skin and assist in moving the liquefied fat out naturally through the lymphatic system. This revolutionary Laser Cellulite treatment effectively reduces fat cells, increases circulation, regenerates collagen and restores metabolic processes to the treated area. Your outcome: smooth, firm, cellulite free results that last.
VelaShape™
VelaShape™ an enhanced version of its predecessor VelaSmooth™, is a revolutionary Laser Cellulite treatment that features elos™ technology. Elos™ utilizes both bi-polar radio frequency and laser light technology as well as vacuum and mechanical massage to effectively target problem cellulite areas. The combination of these energies works to reduce the size of the fat cells and fat chambers within the layers of skin, increase the metabolism of stored energy and increase lymphatic drainage; all which will help to reduce the lumpy, dimpled appearance of the skin.
VelaShape™ is the only device currently on the market proven to treat both the deeper tissue and the upper layers of the skin. This multi-level treatment results in a measurable reduction in fat layers, overall circumferential reduction and a decrease in the dimpled appearance of cellulite. VelaShape™ is a fantastic non-surgical, virtually painless treatment for both body contour reshaping and cellulite reduction. With proven results in as few as 4 treatment sessions this treatment can get you effective cellulite reduction results.
TriActive LaserDermology
Many cellulite reduction treatments have been developed, but it was only with the introduction of the laser, that cellulite reduction treatments truly became effective. The TriActive LaserDermology system by Cynosure was the first technology for the temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite that utilized laser light. The TriActive LaserDermology employs a triple action technology that works to restore normal balance to both inner and outer layers of skin. This new treatment works to reduce cellulite appearance through the combination of massage, localized cooling and laser stimulation.
The TriActive LaserDermology triple action technology utilizes deep laser action in order to enhance microcirculation. The mechanical massage works to stimulate action within the subcutaneous tissue in order to bring about tighter skin in the treatment area. The combination of these methods works to enhance overall body contour and significantly reduce the outer appearance of cellulite. The procedure is painless and works much more effectively than traditional cellulite treatments. 10- 15 closely spaced treatments can work wonders for the visible reduction of cellulite on the body.

Once it forms, the only way to reduce cellulite is by loosening the hardened tissue in order to release the fat cells and other toxins that have built themselves up. Once these waste materials are removed, the connective tissue will have a chance to return to its normal elasticity. The combination of both massage and laser light has led to increased circulation and overall skin tightening which gives the skin a smoother tighter appearance. Whether naturally, or through treatment, many women, ever day, are fighting and winning their battle with cellulite. |
